In Memoriam: Omer Aamir
It is with deep sorrow that we at LUMS share the grief of the passing away of our alumnus Omer Aamir (BA-LL.B 2017), a graduate of Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL). Omer’s remarkable presence and contributions during his time with us left a lasting impact on our community.
His dedication to his studies and his vibrant spirit were an inspiration to both peers and faculty members alike. Omer’s loss is felt profoundly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dr. Sadaf Aziz, Dean of SAHSOL, expressed the sentiments of our entire community: "We are profoundly saddened by the loss of this young man, whose immense promise and talent was a source of pride to his friends, family, and this institution."
Ms. Angbeen Atif Mirza, Assistant Professor at SAHSOL, fondly remembers her student, "My main recollection of Omer is of how well-mannered and polite he was. Even after his graduation, as we became peers through the alumni association, he continued to show profound respect and maintained the regard that one awards an instructor.”
Reflecting on her mentorship with Omer, Ms. Marva Khan Cheema, also an Assistant Professor at SAHSOL, stated, “Hearing about Omer's tragic passing has been truly heartbreaking. He studied Constitution (Comparative) Law with me early on during my teaching career. I found him to be very honest and respectful. His presence in the class was marked by his candid opinions on the topics under discussion, and he was very courteous in all our interactions. He was a wonderful part of our alumni body and will surely be missed."
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Omer’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May they find comfort and strength in the cherished memories of Omer and the support of those around them.
