This event brings together global leaders and experts to shape a climate-resilient future, not only for Pakistan but for the entire South Asian region. As the 5th most climate-vulnerable nation, Pakistan is facing numerous environmental challenges, from rising temperatures, water scarcity, and unpredictable weather to rising natural disasters. Through collaboration, information sharing and practical solutions, we can bring a change and develop a more sustainable future for generations to come.
The conference will feature important discussions, including a video message from Syed Babar Ali, Founding Pro Chancellor of LUMS, highlighting the “Role of the Private Sector in Accelerating Sustainable Development in Pakistan.” Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, will lead an insightful discussion on “Pakistan 2047: A Vision for Climate Resilience & Climate Justice,” while Dr. Ijaz Nabi, Professor of Economics, LUMS and Country Director, Pakistan International Growth Centre, will chair a discussion on “Climate Mainstreaming and Increasing the Adaptive Capacities of Countries Vulnerable to Climate Change.” These conversations aim to drive meaningful climate action for environmental sustainability.
