Dr. Mariam Haider has more than 20 years of experience working with children and families in both clinical and school settings. Her research interests include the investigation of emotional and behavioural problems in children and analyzing the efficacy of programs that focus on such issues. Her area of clinical expertise includes comprehensive developmental and psycho-educational assessments of children with various developmental and learning issues. Dr. Haider has also received extensive training in cognitive behaviour therapy and Mindfulness.
Dr. Haider obtained her PhD in School/Applied Child Psychology from McGill University. After completing her doctorate, she worked as a Research Associate at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and the SMBD-Jewish General Hospital. She also has experience teaching at McGill University and working as a psychologist at a private clinic in Montreal. In 2012 she returned to Pakistan and has subsequently worked at a clinic and with various schools.
